There was a little boy who walked home from Sunday school, and the family was sitting around the old potbelly stove talking. The boy told his dad and papa about the lesson. The boy was so excited. He told them he'd gone up to the altar and accepted Jesus as his personal savior. The boy said he was going to live the rest of his life for Jesus. And the old grandpa said, grandson, it's impossible to live a life for Jesus. It's too hard. The boy lowered his head and sat in the corner. After a long silence, the lad came back and said, Papa, I'm going to live for Jesus for a year. The old man said, Boy, it's impossible. You can't do it. They went back in the corner. After weighing the situation, the grandson said, Papa, how about a month? Nope, you can't do that. The boy said, How about a week? No. A day? No. No.

The boy sat a long time and came back. Papa, can I live a moment for Jesus? The grandfather said, yes. Yes, you can. The boy jumped up and down. Then he said, Papa, I'm going to live for Jesus the rest of my life. Moment by moment. Moment by moment. We're to live godly lives. See, Jesus is coming back. It's going to happen. Just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it's not going to happen.

So am I Hanging On By A Thread If something is hanging by a thread, it usually denotes that it  is ready to fall apart or that the situation can change in an instant.   The phrase can be applied to physical things, situations, and ideas. The term hanging by a thread, derives from the ba nquet that King Dionysius held for Damocles, a courtier of ancient Syracuse. King Dionysius was beginning to become annoyed with Damocles' constant flattery of his king. He invited him to a banquet, where Damocles was seated under a sword suspended by a single hair .   The following are 13 Realities of an Angry Pastor Audio 1. Angry Pastors Have Experienced Significant Pain and Disappointment. Hurt people hurt people. Even when they are pastors. 2.  What does Luke 9:59 mean?   Audio Link Luke is presenting another flashback to further explain what Jesus requires of His disciples. In the previous example, a scribe wanted to follow Jesus and Jesus told him he would have to give up the luxury of house and bed ( Luke 9:57–58 ; Matthew 8:19 ). In this case, Jesus personally invites a man to come along with Him. Culturally, the man's request is honorable. Caring for one's parents is a significant tenet both in Judaism and later in Christianity. Scholars debate over what the man means by "burying" his father. If his father has just died and needs to be embalmed and placed in a tomb, the man will be made unclean for a week to fulfill the purification process ( Numbers 19:11 ).
