Obedience to God
2 Corinthians 7:1, It’s not always easy to choose obedience to God, especially if we’re trying to do it all on our own. Remember, we are not trying to live a holy life in order to earn salvation; living a holy life is a natural outgrowth of being saved by God’s grace and filled with His Spirit. It is also important not to give up when we mess up. When we fail, our response should be to confess the sin and keep moving forward in our Christian walk. Like-minded people in the Bible refer to those who share similar beliefs, values, and goals, particularly in their faith. Scriptures such as Philippians 2:2 encourage believers to be united in spirit and purpose, emphasizing the importance of fellowship and support among Christians for spiritual growth. Standing with God means aligning your beliefs and actions with His teachings and values, often involving faith, prayer, and a commitment to living according to His will. It reflects a personal relationship and trust in God, which can guide your decisions and interactions with others. A third reason to trust God is that we really have no sensible alternative. Should we trust in ourselves or in others who are sinful, unpredictable, unreliable, and frequently make bad choices and decisions? Yes, this includes family members (Romans 16:17-18). Or do we trust in the all-wise, all-knowing, all-powerful, gracious, merciful, loving God who has good intentions for us? The choice should be obvious, but we fail to trust God because we don’t know Him, or do you?
